Elders FAQs
What is the best way to enjoy Elders?
Though everyone has their methods, our favorite way to make a cup of Elders is in a French Press with a 1:3 ratio, which is 1 part coffee beans to 3 parts water. This makes a nice strong brew, which is perfect for adding a splash of your preferred milk or cream, and half a tablespoon (more or less!) of raw sugar.
In example, if you want two mugs of coffee with a 1:3 ratio, add 4 tablespoons of coffee grounds to your French Press, boil water, and pour 12oz (or 1.5 cups) of water on top of the beans. Stir, steep for 5 minutes, add your fixings, and enjoy!
What is the grind size on your ground coffee?
At the moment, we only offer ground coffee, and in one grind size: Medium. That means it’s most compatible with Pour Over, French Press, and regular Drip-style Coffee Makers. For the best experience with Moka pots, espresso machines, and Turkish coffee pots, add our readily ground beans to a coffee grinder and grind to Fine!

What coffee flavoring does Elder use?
Our flavors are specially crafted by Elders Coffee and contain only natural flavors.
Does Elders Coffee contain allergens?
While our flavorings are technically vegan, gluten-free, nut-free, and top 8 allergen-free, we are not certified in any of these as the facility that makes our flavorings process foods with multiple allergens. Although we ensure not to cross contaminate, please understand that the risk is always possible and to order accordingly.
Is Elders Coffee Fair Trade?
Though we haven’t gone through the process of becoming Certified Fair Trade, our coffee comes from ethical farms in Nicaragua. We care about where our coffee comes from, so we ensure our beans are Organic and sustainably sourced.
Is Elders Coffee Organic?
Our coffee beans are Certified Organic! However, our flavoring is non-Organic by choice, as Organic flavorings are weak in scent and taste. To deliver the flavors as brightly as we do, we must use Non-Organic flavoring.
